Tasks

• Technical consulting and support for product owners and development teams in the area of cloud databases.
• Guidance and mentoring of technical teams to ensure the highest operational standards.
• Advising on the selection and introduction of new database technologies and services.
• Promotion and implementation of operational excellence through advanced monitoring, logging, and tracing strategies.
• Definition and establishment of best practices for the provisioning, scaling, updates, backup/restore, and disaster recovery of database platforms.
• Development and implementation of automation solutions for recurring tasks and processes (IaC, GitOps).
• Ensuring the highest security and compliance standards, as well as continuous optimization regarding FinOps.
• Active participation in incident management and root cause analysis for continuous improvement of platform stability.

Profile

• Demonstrable experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, and Database Engineering, ideally in hybrid environments.
• In-depth understanding of Cloud-Native concepts, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes), and related technologies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps principles for automating infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Experience in designing and operating highly available, scalable, and secure database platforms.
• Solid knowledge in the areas of Observability (Monitoring, Logging, Tracing) and Alerting.
• Practical experience with backup/restore strategies and disaster recovery planning for critical database systems.
• Strong awareness of security and compliance requirements, as well as initial experience with FinOps principles.
• Excellent analytical skills for problem analysis and solution finding in incident management.
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills to effectively lead and advise technical teams and stakeholders.
• A completed degree in IT or equivalent qualification through professional experience.
