Tasks

For our client, a renowned and forward‑thinking company located in the South Westphalia / Ruhr region, we are recruiting an Embedded Linux Software Engineer (m/f/d) as part of a direct placement process.

We are looking for a skilled engineer who develops, optimizes, and adapts Embedded Linux systems for customized hardware platforms. You will contribute to innovative automation solutions and work within a modern, collaborative engineering environment.

  • Design and development of object‑oriented embedded software for real‑time Linux systems

  • Implementation and validation of software components on Intel or ARM architectures

  • Customization and enhancement of Linux operating systems for customer-specific hardware

  • Documentation, testing, and quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle

  • Close collaboration with the engineering team to implement technical requirements

Profile

  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification

  • Several years of experience with Embedded Realtime Linux in systems with strict real‑time constraints

  • Strong proficiency in C++ and object‑oriented development

  • Beneficial: Experience in low‑level development (kernel, drivers, system libraries)

  • Strong curiosity, team spirit, and enthusiasm for solving complex technical challenges
